By [posts-author-link] on [date]
Written in easy to understand language for teens and adults, this article describes research on the links between getting enough sleep and youth wellbeing. Citing research by experts on adolescent development and sleep, the authors argue that most teens are not getting enough sleep, and that chronic sleep deficits can make youth vulnerable to a range of physical and mental health issues, including: greater depression and anxiety, difficulty coping with stress, poorer impulse control, problems with attention and concentration, and lower academic performance. The article concludes with a colourful infographic that provides advice for teens on how to develop healthy sleep habits, as well as links to additional sleep resources.
