The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) is the leading SEL organization in the United States, and widely recognized to be the authority in defining and advancing the development of academic, social and emotional competence for children. With a strong focus on the school context for fostering social and emotional development in children, CASEL’s mission is “to help make evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) an integral part of education from preschool through high school”.

Particularly valuable is CASEL’s library of evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) resources, such as their Safe and Sound Guide to effective SEL programs. All content published on the site has been reviewed by CASEL staff, is freely accessible, and much of it available for download (in accordance to the CASEL’s terms of use). The CASEL homepage is also a useful site to visit for reading about the latest research, or important events in this field.
