The resource provides information pertinent to both parents and teachers. Included in the resource is a brief overview of drug addiction, along with a discussion of the importance of early intervention efforts at home, at school, and within the community. Also included is a list of symptoms and behaviors that youth with substance use disorder may display, as well as a brief discussion of potential educational implications to consider regarding substance use disorders. Of particular interest to teachers is a section that addresses both classroom-based prevention strategies, as well as classroom accommodations that teachers can utilize if they suspect a student has a substance use disorder.
