Developed by the Public Broadcasting Service, Finding Family in Chennai, is an activity plan for grade 3 students on family diversity. Based on an episode of the television show, Arthur (which can be included as part of the lesson), this activity teaches children about differences between family structures, cultures, and ancestry. There are several small activities in this lesson, such as students mapping out their own family tree and tracing their ancestry. All lesson materials are provided online for free.
